9-17-2009 Russell Springs City Council

Posted by Adam Parker @ 10:58 pm

Russell Springs:

After the 2nd reading of Ordinance 2009-09 Property Tax Ordinance was read the reading of the bids took place. The city voted to accept the lowest bidders in each of the categories with the Mayor breaking a tie for the lowest bidder in one category giving the bid to Eric Seil Wall Systems. All Council members were present along with Mayor Hollis DeHart and City Attorney Don Byrom

The City went into executive session on the sale of property and for possible litigation. After executive session the City voted unamiously for the sale of property with no vote being taken on possible litigation. However it appears that more fireworks happened outside of city hall than inside during executive session.

While waiting during the executive session immediately outside of City Hall; Police Chief Joe Michael Irvin threatened to arrest US Justice Watch reporter Amy Mischler and accused her of committing crimes. At one point Mayor Hollis DeHart came to the door to see what was taking place with Irvin. More to be published on this tomorrow.
