  4. There is a lot of this kind of thing going on in LFUCG. Someone needs to turn on the light.
How many of you are reading this as I am, and not leaving comments?
    DO NOT BE AFRAID.
Lets tell the world about corruption in governemnt. We pay these people’s salaries with our tax dollars. They must be held accountable, and as management should be leaders, and set shining examples! We taxpayers whould expect this from ALL governments, up to and including US Senators and Reprewsentatives.

I lost my job because my boss changed all the rules convenient to help himself; Paula, being your neighbor, we talk all the time but he changed my job so I couldn’t do it so I got fired. employers don’t care about nothing but themselves. I am glad that my father-in-law is my attorney. We support this to tell the truth. thank you

  8. Us Whistleblowers need to stick together; start speaking out more together to the people who subject us to harassment for our choosing to use our 1st amendment rights, of Freedom to speak. We have good morals that includes a conscious, so dont fault us because wey want to do right. Anybody who views this should add a comment of support, more so if you have experienced this sort of treatment.

  10. I do believe there are “real” cases of discrimination, I do believe there are “real” cases of “Whistleblowers” being treated unfairly. But in this case the interviewer should have done her research and in this case I do believe that the “truth shall prevail”.

  12. Good Ladies. more people need to stand in support of them. The city, and state employees should do the same to fight for their rights in federal government.

  14. Please check out my website. I have experienced extreme corruption coming from many angles in the LFUCG. I am running for Lexington City Council At Large. First, to expose the issues that I have been dealing with. Secondly, to hold a seat on the council where I can keep an eye on the local government from the inside and hopefully help to CLEAN HOUSE!

    Comment by Christopher Hignite — May 4, 2010 @ 2:12 am

  15. Chris Hignite, your link is familiar to many of us. more people have had to accept anything goverment gives them. i hope that you will be a council at large at lexington.

    Comment by tax payer harry — May 7, 2010 @ 8:56 pm

  16. Thank you, Harry. I have run on an extremely low budget with forces everyone here is familiar with standing in my way. However, win or lose, the battle continues until we have a more open government with repercussions for corruption.

  21. This is a complete and utter outrage and someone needs to fix this..this woman is suffering all this time…for yrs now! She is afraid to do anything..I have talked to her and she’s afraid for her safety…what is wrong with this country when our morals have gotten so low as to fire a woman for doing her job and being morally and ethically on her … See Moretoes….saving her company money…etcc….our tax payer dollars….goes on and on…but the bottom line is…firing her for doing the right thing? What do we teach our children? What kind of nation are we becoming to let this sort of thing happen to this woman? It is WRONG…VERY WRONG…and I for one am proud to call her my friend…and I bet she can lay her head down at night and sleep..(other than when she’s not worrying about how she’s going to pay her next bill) at night…You rock Paula! Your friends have your back! Hope all goes well and need me give a shout out…be right there… :) Read about this 185 guys and call your senator and help support this…even help just one person… I know Paula would be grateful..

  22. “Whew……makes my blood B O I L! I have never ever heard of…(well maybe I have but just chose to ignore for wasn’t so close to home) such tremendously torturous physical pain for someone to have to go thru for trying to do the right thing…this sooooooo needs to be brought to the attention of…I DON”T KNOW WHO AS OF YET…but will find out as we go along….I can see where this has taken your spirit, your entire soul….serious business, Miss Paula….so so sorry…. :( you got your WCHS family you know?

  23. “Hi Paula – I’m Kim Y. I am familiar with your work on whistleblower protection and I think you are an admirable person and a role model for all women! (and anyone else who wants to live honestly and ethically!) So sorry to read here that you are experiencing hardship because you chose to do the right thing. I think Hollywood should make a movie about you – your work is just as important as that of Erin Brockovich or Jeffrey Wigand! Besides, I love a rabble-rousing and whistleblowers upset ‘da good ole boys’ and good ole boys always need to be upset – goodness, wish we could get rid of that system! Best of luck to you.”

  24. Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government is SATURATED with impropriety. The entire governing body is a three-ring circus, and the mayor is the ring leader. The Herald Leader needs to make an open records request on ALL appeals regarding discipline to find out who’s blowing the whistle and to what extent they are being punished. Kudos to Paula. Unfortunately, there are many of us still under active fire. Good luck, Paula. Be prepared for several years of litigation.

This request will go to the HL.

  26. THe only thing you will see out of HL is surveys of WHO you like. This only goes to show that the media round these parts is like the other big ones. NO good! They are( not any real reporters) who are not afraid to go after REAL STORIES Any more. No One wants to get sued. Everyone keeps their head down in fear of Retalitation!

Paula was a volunteer trying to help organize the LFUCG employees, and worked along side Joe , AFSCME employee… but, as a whistleblower …she received the Kentucky treatment –

We just appealed the dismissal of her federal court case to the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals..

I realize some of you have seen this already, but its the new, today’s “billing” — right under Clinton, (OBAMA’s) which caught the attention of a lot of people

Paula is struggling to pay something on her billing; AFSCME helped with a $5000 payment towards her billing.

She still has over $60,000 outstanding ….but , we are keeping the faith with her , and she is keeping the faith with us …she is one terrific client !

Hopefully , one of the Union’s will pick her up as an Organizer…she not only has lots of guts and fortitude, but she has one of the best , absolutely best, memories of dates and location of documents, of any client I have had.

If Paula tells me that a document was circulated on a specific date , 3 1/2 years ago, she will find that document and pass it on to us.

Send her an encouraging word, so that she will continue to keep the faith, and know that people around the country are hoping and praying that “JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL” –

A judge, years ago, wrote in an opinion in one of my cases: “It used to be said that the King can do no wrong ! — Yet, in this day and age, we know that the King can do wrong, and in this instance, the King did wrong !”

We need to prove that that adage from the early 60’s is still good law, and will be justly determined, once again, in Paula’s case

Thanks on behalf of Paula for reading and watching the videos featuring her painful experiences, yet still vivacious

    John,
PS– share this with others in the labor movement , and particularly with your state and national leadership!
