Mayor Continues to Engage in Misleading the Public

Posted by Adam Parker @ 1:03 am

Russell Springs Kentucky, March 12, 2009; Tonight was the regular meeting of the City of Russell Springs (agenda below.) The Mayor continues to engage in misleading the public to a degree necessary to protect and cover up the wrongful acts of the Chief of Police, Joe Michael Irvin. This time the Mayors story surpasses all the possible imaginations of Peter Rabbit.

We broke the story where we learned that Chief Irvin was operating a vehicle at 137 mph on the Cumberland Parkway. 38 minutes and 43 seconds into the City meeting the explanation that the Mayor tells can be heard here for your own interpretation.

In the next few weeks we will be doing a series of articles featuring proof that the Mayor has seriously misled the public in his every word regarding his alleged investigations into the allegations against Chief Irvin. It is his doing, not ours. However; we as a community and a nation are guaranteed equal protection of the laws, to be upheld, which also includes protecting us from being misled to allow a continuation of harassing and harming the public which has created the need for such forthright reporting.

In the past months the Mayor has ignored the fact that the Chief of Police has engaged in serious misconduct, including several incidents involving harassment of young women, beatings, false arrests and even criminal charges that are pending before the Court for furtherance of action. Incredibly the Mayor resorts to trying to gain the sympathy of his believed followers by saying the elements against him are not from here, and, he was born here. Mr. Mayor, nowhere is there any word in the United States Constitution or the State of Kentucky that gives more rights to a person simply because they were native to the area.

During the presentation made by the Mayor he specifically informed the City Council and the public that he was sick of complying with open records requests and that he recently provided materials in response to the request. When USJW asked for the records of the City about the purchase of a police car that USJW knew to be involved in the speeding incident, the City initially refused the request that is mandated by law. See the attached denial of request. Following the receipt of a rather illegal response a second request was sent and the city finally complied.

Mr. Mayor, we challenge you to go on camera, face to face and to confront the evidence in a way the public can see it for themselves and the explanation you wish to provide. Contact us at USJW P.O. Box 1360, Russell Springs, Kentucky 42642 to set up the interview.
