The Same Matthew Leveridge

Posted by Adam Parker @ 12:29 pm

GLASGOW KENTUCKY:

Commonwealth Attorney Matthew Leveridge who was recently arrested for DUI is the same Matthew Leveridge who dismissed the fraud charges against sisters Lorene Hoffman and Susie Pollock in criminal charges in the Barren County courts. Leveridge stated that [t]he city has ultimately filed a civil suit, and that I [ Matthew Leveridge] believe this is more appropriately a civil case.

Further, Leveridge relayed how he had been in secret negotiations with the city attorney Rich Alexander to keep the case from going into an open forum in criminal court. Had this case went to criminal trial the public would have been privy to the information Hoffman and Pollock had concerning their contentions that former police chief now Mayor Darrell Pickett knew and ratified the financial arrangement. The case is now in civil court and even if it goes to trial it is likely that any judicial officer presiding will seal the records keeping the truth about what really from public knowledge.

Not only does Leveridge believe that embezzlement and fraud are not criminal acts, but also that rogue law enforcement officers who abuse their office by beating people should not spend time in jail.

The Times Tribune out of Knox, Laurel and Whitley Counties reported in January 09 about Leveridge’s recusal from a criminal case. I about had a seizure and a heart attack when (Leveridge) said they would serve no time in jail, Chris Brewer said in the September interview with Times Tribune.

They” from that article were former Whitley County Sheriffs deputy Tony Ramsey and his son Perry Ramsey. Chris Brewer bought a weapon from Perry Ramsey. Then, Perry along with his father then deputy Tony Ramsey went to Brewers home demanding the weapon back. They then proceeded to assault Brewer. After a 911 call to report the unwarranted and illegal attack; Ramsey stated that Brewer had stolen the gun on the 911 recordings and according to Brewer said that they had full authority to pistol whip and beat Brewer for resisting arrest, all this while Brewer was inside of his own home.

How many cases has Matthew Leveridge compromised justice by abusing his prosecutor’s discretion to cover up local corruption by public officials? How many times has Matthew Leveridge committed the criminal act of DUI without being caught, or has been caught and let go by law enforcement because of his Commonwealth Prosecutor status? The US Justice Watch is committed to getting the answers to these questions and making those answers public. The integrity of our criminal justice system and the very safety of our children on the public roads depend upon it.

The US Justice Watch thanks the Glasgow Daily Times and the Times Tribune for providing information. Please check their stories out about Matthew Leveridge at www.glasgowdailytimes.com and www.thetimestribune.com
