Storms Attack Russell County

Posted by Adam Parker @ 1:54 am

JAMESTOWN, RUSSELL COUNTY, Ky.; Today February 11, 2009 a weather front passed through Russell County and several surrounding areas and it certainly left its mark, both in beauty and in destruction, fortunately no one was hurt. The storm, resulting from a cold front in the process of evicting the beautiful, unseasonably warm weather brought winds which exceeded 60 miles per hour. When the storm was gone it left a beautiful rainbow and then signed the work of art at the County seat at the law offices of Joel R. Smith and the Jamestown Café.

USJW interviewed Mr. Smith who described how his entire roof lifted off his office building as well as portions of the front wall of his building. Mr. Smith said that a large chunk concrete fell only inches from his and other automobiles parked in front of his building while he was inside working.
As can be seen in the attached photos the Jamestown fire department was busy cleaning up the mess and making sure the area was safe from any resulting danger and debris while

Attorney Joel Smith stood by assessing the damage to his office and the rest of the square.

If you look really close, you are not seeing things, there were actually two rainbows.
